JCA

I've just got accepted to become a member of JCA (Japan Couture Addicts), a French collective sewing blog for all fans of Japanese couture. I'm so happy to finally have the courage to participate after months of visiting and admiring other member's creations.

I received the invitation to join in from one of the administrators couple of days ago:

Spring slouch bag

I wanted to sew a bag. One lovely bag. A carry-all bag. Then I saw this picture in one of my sewing books and decided I wanted to make one. The pattern is easy but not so easy when I tried to attach the handle, I think I should insert the handle before sewing the top part of the bag .. so I made some "adjustment" by changing the handle with a white bag band I bought long time ago in Daiso, Singapore. The fabric I used was also my old stock I bought on Sale in Spotlight.

Once the bag's ready, I asked my daughter to take a picture of me with the bag then she asked me if she could have the bag .. well, of course you can have it, sweetheart .. :)

Spring/Summer Dress :)

Finally I've made my self a dress. After skirts and tops, I think I need a dress. And why wait? when could be a better time to make one, now it's spring time!

Got the pattern from one of my collections of Japanese sewing book. The fabric I got in S'pore since the beginning of my sewing adventure, I've been keeping it until I found the perfect style for it. I loved the fabric, I think its soft, silky texture is just perfect for this dress. I'm quite happy with the result and now I got a new outfit for spring/summer :)

Simple Layered Skirt

I had only 1,3m purple fabric I've got S$ 3/m from sale, it's the last batch that day. I haven't got the time to turn this fabric into something .. maybe a blouse?, tank top? or skirt? .. but I had this idea that keep appearing inside my head that I would like to make it as a layered ruffled skirts for my girls .. and I had these lovely crocheted doily I've got from Daiso for S$ 2/packet of 3 doilies.

So I went ahead with this idea from my head ... and here's how it looks like :)
