culotte (skirt-pants)

The first time I saw the model, I've fallen in love .. but to make one? I have to challenge myself. First, I didn't have the perfect fabric (I got a picture what fabric I would love to make: it should be thick enough, but not stiff .. so the culotte would sit nicely, still "flowing" but not see-through for a skirt-pants) until one day I saw this fabric in a textile shop nearby, a leftover fabric with only 140 m long for CHF 18. My heart said: grab it!, my mind said: you need to be extra careful and creative using the fabric) ..

I followed both voices, my inner voice said I could do it .. and so this is the result when a fabric seemed to "talk" to you and you just need to follow the voice inside your head ...

Sewing Me!

This time it's all for ME! ..
I got these Batik fabrics from friends (as always) .. and really wanted some new outfits from it. The RED flowery skirt was made from cotton Batik Blitar, I made it into a semi circular skirt with elastic waist. The loose dress in GREEN Batik was made from more "silky" soft cotton, and the purple-red (MAROON) dress was made from cotton Batik Madura fabric.

Got some special events? uummm .. not really, but just in case ... ;-)

Bermuda/Capri Pants

I got this model from my new sewing & pattern (Japanese translated in French) book bought in Junkudo Paris last time. Daughter wanted this pants, so I made one for her. It's available in size 100-130 (3 yrs - 10 yrs old approximately), actually daughter used to wear size 140 but this one suits her just nice :)

Happy New Year 2012!

Hi, we just came back from holiday in Paris. Paris now only about 3,5 hours train ride from Geneve. We had a great time there, and I specially had a splendid moment found the Japanese bookstore JUNKUDO in Rue Pyramide (bought 2 sewing books from there) .. and then went to Marche Saint Pierre the textile shop and the area was full of fabrics, button shop and all sewing essentials .. the area is in 18th arrondisement (district) in the northern part of Paris, it's not really a tourist site, it's crowded and a bit dangerous .. you must be very vigilant when you plan to go there ..

in fabric heaven :)
I bought some fabrics (I wanted to buy more, but I have to strict with my budget!) .. and already made one outfit from the fabric bought in Saint Pierre. I definitely must go there again one day ...

Girl's blouse in blue stripes lurik

I was just thinking of combining the pleated skirt and bodice to make this blouse. I didn't have enough fabric (the blue and pink stripes lurik is from a friend, and I already used some to make an A-line skirt before) .. so I couldn't make this as a dress, instead I made it into a blouse.

The most important part is that it looks rather nice and daughter loves it, even hubby said it's a nice and neat outfit ..

Flowery bag

Yes more bags please ..
This one is using the same pattern as the blue bag I've made last time. The fabric is a "coupon" only some 70 cm long from a textile shop, and just nice to make a bag. I've finished it with brown lace trimming (the lace I got from a friend, most probably bought in Daiso, SG). So, beige n brown flower bag or blue n white bag? hhmm ... both?! :)

always pretty and practical :)

batik clutch with a glam!

I've finished making the matching clutch for the batik blouse I've made last time. I only wanted to make a full use of the batik fabric since I still have some leftover and thought that it would be nice to make a matching bag. Yes, I put the evening clutch on my online shop, it's a model, as a display item of how it turn out like .. I could make another clutch later .. maybe with a magnetic snap button or a zipper to securely, neatly close the clutch. I added a golden chain to make it more "glam" for evening/formal events.
